West Dorset's pub of the year crowned
Congratulations are in order for The Woodman in Bridport!
The West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale have named their Pub of the Year - crowning The Woodman in Bridport with the 2024 title.
Judges praised it for being a friendly boozer, with staff who have good knowledge of cask ales!
CAMRA sends judges to local pubs secretly, to help choose the winner.
Landlord of the South Street venue, Darren Moore, said:
”We are totally shocked, but of course very happy. We would like to thank all the customers, suppliers, musicians, DJs and the staff that make the pub what it is.”
The award was presented by West Dorset CAMRA Chairman, Bruce Mead, at the recent Dorchester Beerex. Bruce said:
"Presenting CAMRA awards to Darren and his team at The Woodman has become a bit of a habit over the last 12 months. This award comes on top of their West Dorset and Wessex Regional Cider Pub of the Year awards, and is thoroughly deserved. We wish them every success in the next round of the competition."
The Woodman now goes forward to represent West Dorset in the Regional Final.
