Two teenagers arrested following serious assault in Weymouth

It's alleged the offenders were armed with a hammer and a knife

A teenager's been subjected to a serious assault in Weymouth, with two other teenagers arrested.

Dorset Police say a fight broke out in an alleyway between Court Road and Lorton Lane at around 9.20am on Tuesday morning (21st March).

It's alleged two teenagers, armed with a knife and a hammer, assaulted another teen, who suffered a cut above his eye.

The offenders are then believed to have left the scene in the direction of Lorton Lane.

A 15 year old boy from Gillingham and a 15 year boy from Blandford have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting GBH with intent.

Detective Sergeant Rich Barnett, of Weymouth CID, said:

“Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and I am keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries.

“I would also urge motorists who were in the area and residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras to please check their footage for the morning of Tuesday 21 March 2023 to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.

“I appreciate reports of this nature may cause concern for the local community. I would like to reassure members of the public that this matter is the subject of a detailed investigation and local officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
