More than 3,000 people in Dorset in self-isolation on Christmas Day
New figures show how many people tested positive in Dorset in the week leading up to Christmas
It's estimated more than 3,000 people were self-isolating in Dorset on Christmas Day, according to the latest coronavirus figures.
Government guidance says you must self-isolate for ten days after you test positive or first show symptoms of Covid-19.
You may be able to end your isolation period if you test negative on two lateral flow tests 24 hours apart, after day 7.
That means the 17 December was the last day you could test positive and end your isolation period by Christmas Day.
Between 18 December and Christmas Day, 3,253 people tested positive for coronavirus meaning at least that many were self-isolating for the holidays.
Cases rose during that week 281 at the start and 542 by the end of the week.
It comes as the Prime Minister faces calls to shorten the self-isolation period to five days to avoid staff shortages in frontline services like the NHS.
