Series of thefts on Portland street

Dorset Police are looking into a number of incident in Fancys Close

Four separate thefts are being investigated by Dorset Police - from one street on Portland.

The incidents happened on Saturday evening (14th January) in Fancys Close.

At around 9.45pm, a man was seen to enter a van before being disturbed by residents.

Reports were also made to officers that an attempt was made to break into another van on the same road, as well as some security lights being stolen from a garden and some items taken from another vehicle.

PC Billy Taylor, of Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into these incidents to identify the offender.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please come forward.

“Also, if you have a doorbell camera or home CCTV system in the vicinity, I would ask you to please check your footage for anything of relevance on the night of the incidents.”
