Two teenagers have suffered cuts to their lips after being assaulted on Weymouth seafront.

A 17 year old boy and a 15 year old girl were allegedly attacked by a man and a woman on The Esplanade, near the sand sculptures, at around 5.20pm on Saturday 22nd October.

It's believed the group are all known to each other.

A 35 year old man, of no fixed abode, and a 26 year old woman from Weymouth have been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They've been released on bail while enquiries continue.

There's an ongoing appeal for witnesses to get in touch with officers.

PC Alice Edgar, of Weymouth police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“In particular, I understand a woman approached the victims and offered them tissues following the incident. I would be keen to speak to this individual as they may have information to assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on mobile phone or dashcam footage.”
