Work's due to start today (Tuesday 2nd April) on improving visibility for drivers at a dangerous junction near Sherborne.

There've been several accidents at the A352 - New Road junction where people have been injured.

As well as moving road signs and fences, the speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph on Horsecastles Lane, Ottery Lane and Dancing Hill.

Dorset Council say they expect the work to take four weeks to complete.

Temporary traffic lights will in place at the junction while the work's carried out for the next month

Jack Wiltshire, Head of Highways, said:

“We are committed to improving road safety. This scheme will help to address issues at a junction where there have been multiple collisions over the years. We thank everyone for their patience while these works take place”.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the work, for the safety of staff on site.

Drivers are asked to allow extra time for journeys.
