Sherborne hosting first ever Pride event

It'll be headlined by 90s dance icon Janice Robinson formerly of Livin' Joy

90's icon, Janice Robinson says she's pleased to be an ally for the LGBTQ plus community as she prepares to headline Sherborne’s first ever Pride event today (Sunday 7th July).

The former lead singer of Livin’ Joy will treat fans to her classic ‘Dreamer’ amongst others.

The platinum selling number 1 hit Dreamer will turn 30 this year.

Throughout her career, Janice has toured Tina Turner, toured as the live replacement vocalist for Snap! (The Power), Lionel Richie, sung for Oprah Winfrey, as well as fitting in the role of a high school teacher.

She also boasts a list of songwriting credits for other artists including Taylor Dayne and High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale.

In 2018, she also made a comeback on The X Factor.

Sherborne Pride will include a Party in the Park event at the Pageant Gardens, with organisers saying it'll be a 'rainbow of colours'.

Events will be held from 12 noon until 10.00pm.

There'll also be a parade from Paddock Gardens, along Cheap Street, Half Moon Street, Digby Road and into Pageant Gardens, and a Pride Market along Digby Road from 10.00am until 3.00pm.
