Man needs knee surgery following Bournemouth assault

There's an appeal for witnesses to the incident on Charminster Road

A man's suffered a broken nose, cut to his head, and an injury to his knee that's required surgery - following an assault in Bournemouth.

The victim, who's in his 20s, was attacked in an alleyway behind a row of shops on Charminster Road, near the Dancing Jug.

It happened between 12.30am and 1.20am on Saturday 10th June.

Detective Constable Evelyn Ahmadi, Bournemouth CID, said:

“We have conducted a number of initial enquiries into this assault and, following further contact with the victim, I am now in a position to appeal for information from members of the public to assist our investigation.

“I am keen to hear from any witnesses or any motorists in the area who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
