Dorset Police are urging us to report places where we don't feel safe.

Street Safe is an online tool introduce by the government in response to tackling violence against women and girls.

It's anonymous and you can use it to highlight a location where you feel unsafe for any reason.

Reports are secure and completely anonymous. The information will be considered alongside the evidence base already gathered by police forces and used to inform the community safety activities of police and partner agencies such as local authorities.

Dorset Police say the StreetSafe tool should not be used to report crimes. If anyone is in immediate danger or a crime is in progress, call 999. For non-urgent crimes please use the most appropriate method from our website www.dorset.police.uk/do-it-online

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"StreetSafe is easy to use with guidance at every stage. You cannot enter descriptions of what concerns you in your own words: if you need to provide this level of detail then you may need to contact the police directly.

"Remember that as your contact details are not recorded, the police cannot get back to you about your report.

"The more people that use StreetSafe, the better the quality of the information relating to particular areas, so please use it."
