Community shows outpouring of support for brave Wilf
The 4-year-old from Weymouth has been diagnosed with cancer
School children in Weymouth have dressed up as Superheros for the day in support of a little boy who has been diagnosed with cancer.
4-year-old Wilf Salter woke up last month not being able to walk properly.
He went on to have a tumor removed from his spine and is undergoing chemotherapy.
Family friend Esther Sheppard said:
"He's doing well. He's been out of hospital and he's been able to come back home which is lovely, especially for his brother and sister, it's been really lovely for them to see him back at home."
"He's got a wheelchair which is saving his energy levels in helping him get around."
Weymouth Manor Care Home are hosting a special fundraising day on the 21st December for the family.
They have been inundated with generous prizes for a raffle.
Esther said:
"We have had over 50 raffle prizes donated to the home and they are still coming in.
"We have had to separate one of our new luxury bedrooms to fit all these prizes in."
"The money will go to Wilf's parents Lucy and Will to help them pay for their hospital trips up to Southampton.
"And maybe some money for Wilf to go to Disneyland or Lapland if he wants to go."
