Motorbike rider and passenger taken to hospital after collision with car near Dorchester

A motorbike rider has been seriously injured and his passenger taken to hospital after a collision with a car near Dorchester.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.45pm on Saturday (13 May) of a collision involving a green Volkswagen Tiguan and a yellow Honda motorcycle on the A37 at Wrackleford.

The male rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are described as serious. The pillion passenger was also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Police Constable Tracey Downer, of the traffic unit, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of this collision and would ask anyone who witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
