Woman moped rider injured after fail-to-stop crash

It's reported a silver car left the scene of the accident in Poole

A female moped rider's been injured after a fail to stop crash in Poole.

Dorset Police say the collision happened at around 9.40am yesterday (Tuesday 8 November) on The Avenue, near to the junction with Tower Road, involving a silver car and a red Honda moped. It was reported that the silver car failed to stop at the scene of the collision.

The moped rider – a woman aged in her 50s – was treated by the ambulance service for minor injuries.

The driver of the car is described as a black man, aged in his 40s to 50s and of average height and build with a bald head.

Police Constable Abigail Sharp, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify the driver of the car involved in this collision and I would urge anyone with information to assist our investigation to please contact us.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have captured it on dashcam footage.

“I would also urge the driver involved to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account.”
