Man threatened by cyclist in Wimborne

Police have described the incident as 'distressing' for the victim

A man's been threatened by a cyclist in Wimborne - after the victim complimented a man's bike.

It happened in St Catherines, near the junction with Stevensons Close at around 6.40pm on Friday 17th May.

A man in his 30s walked past a cyclist and spoke in praise of his bike.

It's reported the cyclist then made threats towards the victim and then cycled away.

They're described as:

  • White
  • Aged in his late 30s or early 40s
  • Stubbly beard
  • Wearing black cycling clothes
  • Large black sunglasses

The bike was a racing model, with a distinctive reddish brown frame and thin wheels.

Sergeant Neil Hawkes, of East Dorset police, said:

“This was a distressing incident for the victim, but thankfully only verbal contact was made and he did not sustain any physical injuries.

“I am carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and would ask anyone with information to help my investigation to please get in touch.”
