Men sought following reported vehicle fraud in North Dorset
It happened when two people viewed a car for sale in Blandford
Police in Blandford have released images of two men they want to trace, following a reported vehicle fraud and criminal damage incident.
Two men went to view a car for sale in the Charlton Marshall area of Blandford on the evening of Wednesday 11th September.
It's alleged one of them squirted liquid over the engine and into the coolant tank, while the other distracted the owner, before taking the vehicle for a test driver.
The men then said the engine was smoking, and wanted to buy the car for a significantly reduced price.
The owners declined, and have since found the damage caused will cost them over £1,000.
Police Community Support Investigator Kayleigh Hole, of Blandford police, said:
“Our investigation into this matter is ongoing and I am now in a position to issue CCTV images of two men we would like to identify.
“I would urge anyone with information regarding their identities to please make contact with us.”
