Man seriously injured after stabbing in Christchurch
Police were called to an altercation in Fairmile Road yesterday afternoon
A man has been seriously injured after being stabbed in Christchurch.
Dorset Police received a report at 4.51pm yesterday (Thursday 8 December) that a man had sustained a suspected stab wound following an altercation in Fairmile Road.
The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Detectives have launched a full investigation into this incident and a cordon was put in place at the scene.
Detective Inspector Ian Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.
“I would also urge people who live or were driving in the area to check any CCTV or dashcam footage for anything of relevance.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area as enquiries are carried out and local officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.
“At this time we believe this incident involved individuals who were known to each other and there is nothing to suggest any wider risk to the local community.”
