A man's been charged with handling stolen goods, following what's been described as a suspicious incident in Bournemouth.

Police were called to Argyll Road in Boscombe at around 2.15am on Friday (5th May), after a man and woman were spotted pushing a wheelbarrow full of power tools.

Officers searched the area, and an address in the Boscombe area, and recovered a number of power tools and toolboxes.

They also found a number of items that had been reported missing from a van in Argyll Road.

A Bournemouth man, aged in his 40s, was arrested and has since been charged with handling stolen goods.

He's due to appear before Poole Magistrates on Thursday 25th May.

PC Dominic Frost, of the BCP Neighbourhood Enforcement Team, said:

“Officers responded swiftly to this report and through our enquiries we were able to recover a large quantity of suspected stolen property.

“Our action has also seen an individual charged in connection with this matter and facing court proceedings.”
