Man bitten by dog outside Poole shop

The owner's alleged to have left the scene without giving details

A man's been bitten by a Staffordshire bull terrier outside a Poole shop, with police now looking to trace the dog's owner.

The victim in his 50s suffered minor injuries in the incident at the Co-Op on Ringwood Road at around 8.40am Sunday 17th March.

The owner of the dog's alleged to have left the scene without providing any details.

He's described as:

  • Tall
  • Large build
  • Bald head
  • Beard
  • Wearing a light yellow sweatshirt
  • Dark blue trousers
  • Black and white checked trainers

The dog's described as a grey Staffie, with white paws and white around the neck area.

Police Community Support Investigator Michael Hamilton-Fletcher, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are conducting enquiries into this matter. We are keen to speak to the man who owned the dog so we can take his account of what happened.

“I would urge anyone with information relating to his identity or any witnesses to the incident to please come forward. I would also ask the man to please do the right thing and come forward if he reads this appeal.”
