Man arrested following sexual assault on teenager in Weymouth
The victim was grabbed and kissed outside the town's train station
A man in his 70's from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of the sexual assault of a teenage girl.
He sat next to the victim who was travelling on a bus from Dorchester to Weymouth, between 12.00pm and 1.00pm on Thursday (27th April).
He tried to engage her in conversation and sat down next to her.
When they got off the bus, he reportedly grabbed and kissed her, in the area close to Weymouth train station.
A man's arrested has been released on bail while police carry out further investigations.
PC Harry Chaplin, of Weymouth police, said:
“We are conducting further enquiries into this incident, and I would like to hear from anyone with information that might assist our investigation.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been travelling on the number 10 bus around the relevant time and witnessed the reported interaction between the man and teenage girl.”
