Man airlifted to hospital following Weymouth assault

A man has been arrested in connection with the Lennox Street incident

A man's in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being attacked in a house in Weymouth.

The victim - in his 60s - suffered a head injury at the property in Lennox Street just after 11.00am on Sunday morning (11th February).

He needed to be airlifted to hospital for treatment.

A man in his 40s and from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent - he remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Dave Horn, of Dorset County CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and, from our enquiries so far, we believe it occurred within an address and involved individuals who are known to each other. There is nothing to indicate any wider risk to the public.

“To assist our ongoing enquiries, I would appeal to anyone who witnessed or heard any suspicious activity in the area of Lennox Street between around 12am to 1.30am on Sunday 11 February 2024 to please contact us.

“A police cordon has been set up at the scene and is likely to be in place for several days as we continue to investigate this matter. There will be an increased police presence in the area and officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
