Get active with Dorset Health Walks
The scheme is for people of all abilities.
Dorset's free health walks have arrived just in time for January.
Trained volunteer walk leaders are available to help locals discover new places to hike all over the county.
There are over 30 weekly walks to choose from across the area, including Dorchester, Bridport. Weymouth and Portland and they're suitable for people of all abilities.
A spokesperson for Dorset Council said:
"A health walk is a free, short and regular guided walk that lasts between ten to ninety minutes for people of all abilities. They are the perfect way to get more active and to meet new people.
"With so many beautiful parks, green spaces, towns and villages waiting to be explored in Dorset, these community walks give you the opportunity to discover new places in the fresh air and to socialise afterwards."
The programme is run in conjunction with The Ramblers national programme of Wellbeing Walks which helps people who have done little to no exercise before.
Dorset Council is also currently looking for volunteer leaders to support the walks.
You can find out more about your local walks, or volunteer by emailing the Dorset Health Walks team.
