Final round of grants being offered to Dorset businesses
The Council's opened up applications for help of up the £20,000
A final round of grants is being opened up to help Dorset businesses through some Government funds given to the Council.
The authority's asking local companies to apply for support of between £2,000 up to £20,000, with start-ups able to apply for £1,000 to £5,000.
The money's come from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).
In previous rounds, Dorset Council awarded over £670,000 across 65 business support grants.
That's gone towards things like a chiropractic bench, cheese vat, theatre sets, 3D printers, freeze-drying machine, even a bread oven.
It's also gone into the expansions of businesses, such as a larger sawmill, welding workshop, and equipment for a new unit.
Cash can also go into support services like updated websites, marketing campaigns and e-commerce set-ups.
Businesses applying must be in the Dorset Council area, and all projects must be completed by February 2025.
Cllr Richard Biggs, Dorset Council’s Cabinet Member for Property & Assets and Economic Growth, said:
“We are thrilled to have supported many businesses and community groups so far, and this round will provide more funding to even more organisations.
“We hope to inspire Dorset business owners to use this funding to benefit their operations. Visit our website for more information and, if your business qualifies, please apply as soon as you can. We look forward to reviewing the applications.”
