20 people involved in fight on Lyme Regis seafront
A man suffered fractured ribs and a punctured lung
Around 20 people are thought to have been involved in a fight on Lyme Regis seafront, with police now investigating.
The altercation happened at around 1.20am on New Year's Day (Wednesday 1st January) in the Marine Parade area.
Police say it was mostly teenagers involved, with three people suffering injuries.
That included a man in his 50s who sustained fractured ribs and a punctured lung.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
There's now an appeal for any information about what happened.
PC George Harris, of West Dorset police, said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident as we seek to identify those involved and have already spoken to a number of people in connection with the matter.
“We understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of this disturbance and I am keen to speak to any witnesses who have not already contacted police.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any footage of this incident on their mobile phones.”
