The biggest ever intake of new police officers have started their initial training at Dorset Police.

A cohort of 64 trainee officers were sworn in yesterday (Monday 27th March).

They've been meeting with Dorset's new Chief Constable, Amanda Pearson, the county's Police and Crime Commissioner, David Sidwick.

The recruits will undertake 34 weeks of training before being posted out to stations across Dorset.

The new Chief's posted on social media to say she's 'really pleased' to welcome the new officers.

She says she's 'asked them to reflect on how they’ve made a difference after every shift serving our communities'.
