Dorset man due in court charged with animal cruelty
A 20 year old from Verwood was arrested by rural crimes officers
A man's due in court today (Wednesday 31st May) charged with animal cruelty offences.
It follows an investigation by rural crimes officers from Dorset Police, who found evidence allegedly showing a man intentionally setting his dog onto a chicken.
The chicken died as a result of the attack.
A 20 year old man from Verwood has been issued with a postal requisition to appear before Poole Magistrates Court later.
He'll be charged with offences under Section 4 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
