Families across Dorset are set to benefit from a new digital tool aimed at supporting parents and carers of young children.

The EasyPeasy app, now available for free to all Dorset residents, offers practical advice and playful learning activities for families with children aged up to five-years-old.

Developed with input from parents, child development experts, and early years practitioners, the EasyPeasy app aims to turn everyday moments into rich learning experiences.

Launched by Dorset Council, it provides thousands of fun, age-appropriate activities that use simple materials found at home, helping children develop vital early skills.

Councillor Clare Sutton welcomed the app as part of the council’s mission to ensure every child has the best possible start in life.

She said: “The first five years of a child’s life are crucial to their development, so we want to do all we can to help parents and carers give their children the best start.

“These early years are filled with change, learning, and challenges - not just for children, but also for those who care for them.”

Covering topics such as wellbeing, bedtime routines, nutrition, speech and language development, and mindfulness, the app is designed to support families during the crucial early years.

Users can also share their own tips and experiences, creating peer-to-peer networks to build stronger community connections.

Cllr Sutton added: “I’m really pleased to see such a valuable resource being offered for free to every family in the Dorset Council area.”

By offering accessible advice and interactive content, Dorset Council hopes the EasyPeasy app will support early development and help children across the county reach school age confident, happy, and ready to learn.
