A Dorchester based insurance firm has given £6,379 to Dorset County Hospital's charity.

The money from NFU Mutual will go to their Greatest Need Appeal, after their staff chose the cause to benefit from the company's Giving Fund.

They decided on the DCH charity as many of the NFU team, and their friends and family, have used Dorset County Hospital services, and they wanted to do thank the hospital and its staff for their ongoing support and care for the community.

Peter Galloway, Agent and Partner at NFU Mutual Dorchester said:

“NFU Mutual has been a champion of rural communities the length and breadth of the UK for over 110 years, and the Agency Giving Fund champions local causes that are working day and night to change people’s lives and give hope for a better future. We’re extremely proud to have nominated Dorset County Hospital for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community."

The Greatest Need Appeal was set up at DCH to support areas of the hospital for both staff and patients. to improve facilities and experiences.

As an example, it recently funded a staff wellbeing and training project, as well as producing more easily accessible information for patients with additional needs, about the services the hospital can provide.

Simon Pearson, Head of Charity and Social Value at Dorset County Hospital said:

“We want to thank everyone at NFU Mutual for this significant donation and particularly the Dorchester team for thinking of Dorset County Hospital at this time. These funds will go towards our Greatest Need Appeal and allow us to continue to improve care for our patients and ensure the ongoing wellbeing of our staff.”
