A Weymouth DJ is taking on a mighty 36 hour DJ-athon to raise money for veterans support services.

Ben Hadwin's challenge starts at 9am today (Saturday 5th March) at the Lugger Inn. He says he won't stop playing music until 9pm on Sunday.

He says he's been inspired to raise money after seeing the lack of support many veterans get when they leave military service.

Ben said he's particularly been moved by one of his colleagues.

"There's not much support there when they leave. So when they get out, a lot of the time they just get left.

"You go from having a gun pointed at you and being shot at, and shooting another person, to suddenly 'there you go, crack on' out in the real world."

Andy's raised £700 so far, out of a total target of £1,200. It's going towards the work at the Veterans Hub in Weymouth.

Ben added:

"The work that Andy Price has done there is unbelievable. The amount of lives they've probably saved is immense.

"I had a mental health stumble last year, I'm not a veteran, but having that there it helped me wonders."
