Chickerell gravestones to undergo inspection
The Town Council will be checking over headstones at St Mary's
Gravestones at St Mary's churchyard in Chickerell will undergo inspections today (Thursday 14th September).
The headstones will be checked over by the Town Council, as part of their maintenance programme.
They're looking for any potential graves that are unstable, and could be a danger to visitors.
Any that are found in need of repair will have warning signs put up and the owners notified.
Alterations will need to be made within six months.
Gravestones found to be in a dangerous condition will be cordoned off, with the memorial laid down as soon as possible.
