A CCTV image has been shared by police in Weymouth, as they renew their appeal for witnesses to an assault.

A man suffered serious facial injuries in an incident at the junction of Caroline Place and Westham Road at around 12.50am on Sunday 29th September.

It's alleged the offenders went along the Esplanade, King Street and Ranelagh Road afterwards.

A 27 year old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He's been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police have now given us an image of a man they want to trace.

He's described as:

  • White
  • Around 20 years old
  • Six feet tall
  • Slim build
  • Scruffy hair

PC Mia-Isabella Bowditch, of Dorset County CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and have now obtained an image of a man we are looking to identify.

“I appreciate the image is not the best quality, but I am hoping someone may recognise him from his clothing and the description given.”
