Police investigating the reported rape of a teenage girl on Bournemouth beach have arrested an 18-year-old man..
The 15-year-old reported being attacked in the sea close to the Oceanarium on the afternoon of July 18th last year.
Dorset Police said the man arrested, from the West Midlands, was detained on suspicion of rape and has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Dorset Police's Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), said:
“We have continued to support the victim and her family throughout this investigation, and they have been updated with this latest development.”
