Police forensics vans have been seen outside a block of flats at Boscombe in Bournemouth as detectives continue to investigate the discovery of human remains.

Officers have been conducting inquiries in the area, although it is not known if the police vehicles outside the property in Boscombe Spa Road are connected to the investigation.

Partial human remains were found in the area of the Manor Steps Zig Zag, off Boscombe Overcliff Drive on 26 August.

Following scientific analysis, police said the victim was identified as Simon Shotton, 49, from Bournemouth.

Further human remains were discovered in the area of Boscombe Chine Gardens near to Boscombe Pier on 6 September.

Debbie Ann Pereira, 38, and Benjamin Lee Atkins, 48, both from Bournemouth, have been charged with Mr Shotton's murder.

They are next to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on 20 October.

Cordons remain in place as investigations are carried out.

Detective Inspector Neil Third of Dorset's major crime investigation team said: "It is important that as part of our ongoing investigation, we speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Boscombe Chine Gardens between Friday 18 August and Friday 1 September.

"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who has seen somebody in possession of a black suitcase acting suspiciously in the vicinity."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police.
