The first in a series of community activity days begins in Weymouth later (Thursday 27th July).

The Town Council's putting on an art day at Tumbledown, off Radipole Lane from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

We can get involved with hands-on craft activities like pebble painting, creating butterflies, fabric painting and natural weaving.

There'll also be fresh vegetables for sale that have been grown at the former farm.

Anyone going along is encouraged to walk or cycle to the event where possible, as parking is limited on site.

Other events planned

There's also set to be two Wild in the Park family days in Weymouth next month.

They'll be at Lodmoor Country Park on Wednesday 16th August, and Radipole Park and Gardens on Tuesday 29th August.

Visitors can get arty with nature themed craft activities or hunt for clues on a park trail or make a bird feeder between 11.00am and 2.00pm each day.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Kate Wheller said:

“Weymouth Town Council are providing these community events for children and families to enjoy over the summer holidays, so we hope lots of people will enjoy the arts and crafts activities being run.

“Activities range from making bird feeders to natural weaving and pebble painting so, please put the dates in your diary and join us at Tumbledown, Radipole Park and Gardens and Lodmoor Country Park this summer.”
