It's Armed Forces Weekend in Weymouth.

Armed Forces and veterans continue to make a significant contribution to the nation and Weymouth will be celebrating and providing a focus on the veteran’s charities and associations.

The event starts today (Saturday 17 June) from 10am with the arrival of the historic military vehicles on the Pavillion Forecourt with them parading along the Esplanade at 12.30pm. There will be Association charities and awareness stalls located on Weymouth Esplanade throughout the day.

On Sunday 18 June at 11am Weymouth Seafront will host an open air service for all Veterans at the Cenotaph which will be followed by a Parade along the sea front with marching bands and military vehicles. There will be band performances throughout the afternoon.

On Monday 19 June at 10.30am, the weekend will end with Weymouth Town Council raising the flag at The New Town Hall, Commercial Road, Weymouth.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Kate Wheller said, “Weymouth is preparing for this year’s Armed Forces Celebrations. The Armed Forces and Veterans continue to make a significant contribution to our nation and I am delighted to be attending to honour and celebrate them at this memorable event.”
