Some Dorset subtropical gardens will be lit up in a rainbow of colours once again for the festive season - for its third year.

ILLUMINATE at Abbotsbury will kick off from November 25th and run through into the New Year (January 2023).

Multi-coloured LED lights will brighten up the exotic trees and plants, to give us a different perspective.

We're also promised an extended trail this time around as well, taking us on 'an immersive journey deeper into the gardens'.

Dorchester-based lighting specialists OT Event Technicians are behind the displays.

Abbotsbury Tourism General Manager Martin Alderman says:

“We can’t wait to welcome the team from OT Event Technicians back for ILLUMINATE 2022.

“Their hard work makes the Gardens look absolutely spectacular as the lights cast magical shadows and change the whole experience of a visit here to something unique and very special.

“An evening at ILLUMINATE is a treat for the whole family in the weeks running up to Christmas and over the festive period, with dates being added between Christmas and the New Year. A perfect way to celebrate!”

Ollie Titterington of OT Event Technicians says:

“ILLUMINATE at Abbotsbury is a real gem in our calendar now and one all the team looks forward to. Whatever the weather the micro-climate in the gardens offers new and exciting challenges and keeps us on our toes.

“It’s grown to be our favourite time of the year - after a long busy summer of festivals and events it’s nice to plunge ourselves into the Subtropical Gardens, which brings a sense of calm before a busy winter period.”

ILLUMINATE will open on Friday 25th November and runs on various dates until 8th January 2023, between 4.30pm and 8.30pm.

The Gardens' coffee shop and gift shop will remain open for visitors during each evening.

Tickets are £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for children, with Under 5s free.
