Tribute paid to 82-year-old stabbed to death at Handsworth bus stop
They have called the pensioner 'loving and caring'
The family of 82-year-old Allen Karam Chand attacked at a bus stop in Handsworth have paid tribute to him.
The pensioner was attacked on Soho Road at around 3.30pm on Tuesday 14th January.
He was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he later died.
In a tribute his family said: "Our father was loving, caring, and never deceived anyone. He taught us to respect the law as an ex-army man and we will always miss him.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Jesus said whoever believes in me, though he may die he shall live.
"Our father is not physically with us but he is alive with Lord Jesus."
A 43-year-old was initially charged with wounding the 82-year-old.
Since Mr Chand's death, that charge is under review by the Crown Prosecution Service.
West Midlands Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
