A house in Telford has been severely damaged after a car crashed into the front of the property.

Officers from Shropshire Fire and Rescue were called to the property on Holyhead Road near Mossey Green Way and Wombridge Way at around 10:37am on Sunday (November 10th).

When officers and three fire engines arrived, they found that a saloon car had crashed into the corner of the house, causing "severe damage" - according to the service.

Other emergency services, such as West Mercia Police and the Land Ambulance Service attended the scene, together with officials from Telford and Wrekin Council.

During the course of the recovery, officers found that the house's gas supply had been impacted by the crash.

While the supply to the property has been halted, the service said that no further action in recovering the car can be taken until the house has been disconnected from the grid.

They added that a structural engineer has been called to the property to inspect the house and determine the scale of the damage.

Everyone involved in the crash were taken into the care of the ambulance service to get checked, and no one suffered serious injuries.
