"She'll be with me every step." Birmingham mum running London Marathon in daughter's memory
Fiona Edwards' daughter Emilia died when she was just nine months old
A mum from Birmingham who's running the London Marathon in memory of her daughter, Emilia, tells us it helps keep her legacy alive.
Fiona Edwards from Barnt Green is hoping to raise £5,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital, where Emilia received care before she passed away suddenly at just nine months old in 2009.
Fiona told us more about why she's taking on the 26 mile race.
"We wanted to try and turn something incredibly negative, and the worst possible thing anyone could go through, into something positive," she said.
"And just to remember her in a positive way and to have an impact - so hopefully her very short life has had a positive impact on people."
Fiona and her family have been raising money for Birmingham Children's Hospital since Emilia died in 2009.
Fiona's hoping the money she raises through doing the marathon will help them hit the mark of £100,000 fundraising mark overall.
"We've been sky-diving, cake-baking, abseiling... you name it, we've done it!" she said.
"The London Marathon was going to be my biggest challenge so to get over that £100,000 mark I thought I'd just do something crazy."
"We've raised money for all sorts of projects for the hospital, including for two renal scanners and a hoist, and we spread the work of the children's hospital as well through her.
"Emilia was only here for nine months but she's had a big, lasting impact."
Fiona said running in her daughter's memory will help her complete the gruelling race.
"I've got a picture of her on my back, so she'll be with me every step."
