Two rotary clubs in Redditch have joined forces to help supply tools to places in Africa.

Members of Redditch Rotary and Redditch Kingfisher Rotary collect discarded items and work with the Tools With A Mission charity to deliver them to over 500 organisations.

They first started to run the collection back in 2021, and are holding their fourth one this time around.

Mike Luck from Redditch Rotary Club has been part of the group for 12 years, and he says it's great being able to run the project and see the impact it has.

He said: "It's very rewarding to see people who've treasured items from relatives who might've passed away possibly, but didn't know what to do with them, and giving them a new use.

"We would've collected about four van loads over the time, which probably equate to a couple of tonnes of tools.

"The tools go to help people create their own enterprise and employment, and these tools have an impact because people over there might not anything to create any employment with."

The collection point will be open from 11am-2pm at Morrisons on Warwick Highway in Redditch on Sunday 27 October.
