Peace vigil in Birmingham a year on from war on Gaza
People of all faiths and none are gathering in the city centre to remember those who have lost their lives in the conflict
A year on from the start of the war on Gaza, people in Birmingham are paying their respects to those that have lost their lives in the conflict.
The vigil has included the reading of the names of some of the thousands that have been killed.
There have also been candles lit, lighting up the High Street where the vigil has been held.
People of all faiths and none have come together. Including: Muslim leaders, Jewish rabbis and Christian representatives.
The occasion will also be marked with poems and a one-minute silence.
The event has been organised by ISRA-UK which is a humanitarian organisation.
They said: "We’re coming together on Monday to remember those who are suffering and calling for peace in Palestine.”
The gathering is also being supported by Health Workers 4 Palestine, MEND, Never Forget Gaza, and Birmingham for Palestine.
