Five jailed after violent Birmingham robbery where victim was burned with a lighter
They posted the attack on social media which lead to their conviction
Five men have been jailed for their involvement in a violent robbery in Birmingham.
The victim was kicked, burned with a lighter and forced to strip.
He was also threatened with being stabbed and shot if he tried to run off after being hit with a bottle.
The incident took place in Lozells Road, Birmingham on September 16 2023.
The attack has been recorded and posted on social media as they looked to humiliate their victim.
This backfired, however, as it lead to their convictions.
All five tried to deny their part in the attack but were convicted following a trial.
Mohammed Hamza Miah, 23, of Frank Fisher Way, West Bromwich, was jailed for six-and-a-half years for robbery
Saleh Ahmed, 23, of Lozells Road, Birmingham, was jailed for five-and-a-half years for attempted wounding
Nadir Mohammed, 23, of Pershore Road, Birmingham, was jailed for five-and-a-half years for attempted wounding
Roman Ahmed, 24, of Northleigh Road, Birmingham, was jailed for five-and-a-half years for attempted wounding
Zeshan Hussain, 23, from Roway Lane, Oldbury, was jailed for five years for robbery
DC Naomi Guzder, from our robbery team, said: "This was a savage attack with the group prepared to use violence and then try to humiliate their victim.
"This backfired on them and they have all lost their freedom for a number of years," she said.
