Here at Hits Radio West Midlands, we all know JD, Roisin and Producer Paul as our amazing Breakfast Show presenters, bringing us the biggest hits and biggest throwbacks every weekday morning - but how well do you really know the team? Well, thanks to our handy Q&A, you can find out everything you could need to know about The Hits Radio Breakfast Show team right here!

From each of their most memorable on air moments, ultimate throwbacks and what they love most about the West Midlands, get to know JD, Roisin and Producer Paul a bit better, and all of the ways you can tune in...

What can we expect from your show?

JD said "Who knows... most the time we don't! But we do promise you four hours of craziness, fun and lots of laughs. The three of us love waking up the West Midlands and bringing a bit of light relief to your morning."

Roisin kept it simple, with just a few words "Naughtiness, bad behaviour, fun and proper belly laughs"

And Producer Paul added "Fun, silliness....and plenty of laughs to wake you up"

We agree...you're definitely in for a laugh when you wake up with The Hits Radio Breakfast Show!

What is your favourite thing about presenting your show?

JD said: "Every day is different. I get to have a laugh with good friends every day and love that listeners feel that they can join in and share their lives with us too."

Whilst Roisin added: "Having a laugh and having a good time, coming into a job where you don’t have to think too seriously about anything and you get to have fun every day! Getting to hear from listeners about their lives, which are sometimes just as crazy as my own! It feels like we’ve got a room full of mates, all with their own stories to tell."

What’s your role on the show?

As Paul is supposed to be the 'Producer' of the show, we thought this answer would be simple! "I started off as just a Producer (making sure the presenters did the right things at the right times), then in no time they realised I was incredibly funny and the show would only grow if I spoke on it." As you can tell, Producer Paul is VERY modest. 😉

Describe your co-hosts in three words…

JD said Roisin was: "Manic, Motherly, Dipsy", whilst Paul described JD as: "Lovely, but stresses" and Roisin said Paul was: "An idiotically funny loveable bear". It's not quite three words, but we'll let her off!

What features will listeners hear on your show?

The team said: "Every Tuesday we play our own game of Tenable, with Roisin, Paul and our listeners trying to work out which things feature on the top 10 lists. It’s a lot of fun!

Plus, on Mondays Producer Paul takes on the role of marketing consultant and creates a radio advert for local businesses on a feature we like to call 'Marketing Monday'. Some of the results leave a lot to be desired!

And every weekday we give you the chance to win life-changing sums of money on Hits Radio with Make Me A Winner. It’s the best feeling hearing our listeners having their lives changed!"

What’s your favourite thing about the West Midlands?

JD said: "Resorts World - I spend so much time there. I'm addicted to their arcade Vortex. I always think I'm amazing at the games until I hand over my tokens and win a packet of Haribo!"

Roisin said: "The food. We’re spoilt for choice with amazing places to eat and, as a mum, there’s so many places to go for free with the kids…The Think Tank in Birmingham, Jephson Gardens in Leamington, Worcester’s Riverside Park – and Dippy the dinosaur at the Herbert in Coventry are all favourites of mine!"

Whilst Paul added: "It’s where I live, which makes it handy for work...the people are generally nice too."

So far, what’s been one of your most memorable on-air moments?

JD said: "One Halloween the team got me locked in the dungeon of Warwick Castle overnight to see if they were haunted. I have never been so scared in all my life!"

Roisin then told us about Westlife and Alan Carr! "Bringing my next door neighbour in to chat to Alan Carr and Irish dancing with Westlife – it’s never boring!"

Paul said: "Singing with Jess Glynne and Becky Hill on Sing Your Tweets was fun - it's a feature where listeners tweet us their mentions and we read them out through song. I also ought to mention being beaten up in a boxing match for Charity – that was an experience."

Aside from waking up the West Midlands each morning, what do you get up to?

JD told us: "You can find me on the mic announcing at the Coventry Building Society arena for Coventry City Football Club and also at the Skydome for the Blaze Ice Hockey Team. I love meeting mates for a good night out at the Village in Birmingham and love to catch at movie at the cinema."

Roisin said: "I teach Irish Dancing, have 3 young children, I’ve got a sandwich shop (but the bosses said I'm not allowed to mention that anymore). I was an Avon rep for about 3 months, but even Avon decided it was time for me to give that up. "

Paul added: "I love a bit of cinema at the Showcase in Coventry and a bit of Stand up comedy at Birmingham’s Glee club...I'm also obsessed with Liverpool Football Club, but I can't mention that on the radio much round here!"

What is your go-to track to listen to in the car?

JD: "Dua Lipa – Training Season"

Roisin: "I love the new Usher song ‘Kissing Strangers’! Plus Taylor Swift’s recent tracks – they’re always good for carpool karaoke!"

We were going to ask Producer Paul this question, but we knew his answer would be irrelevant, and probably from the 80s. Paul isn’t on this show for his taste in hits and throwbacks!

What do the biggest hits sound like to you?

JD said: "The biggest hits are current, fresh and they always put me in a good mood!"

Roisin added: "The biggest hits are current, fresh and they always put me in a good mood!"

Tell us your throwback song:

JD: "Gala - Freed From Desire"

Roisin: "Rhythm is a Dancer by Snap! I wore an awful outfit to a disco at cardinal newman school. That same night I remember trying to do a headstand on the dancefloor - it ended very badly. My mum always used to shout upstairs “TURN THAT NO NO NO SONG OFF!”. I still love it now though. "

Do you have anything else to add?

Roisin said: "I could pinch myself that I’ve been lucky enough to wake up the West Midlands for as long as I have. I really value and appreciate being able to be on the radio every day in a place love."

Producer Paul finished the Q&A, saying: "If you’re sick of hearing cheesy DJs say they like this and that, then listen to us. We are genuine, down to earth people, who are very fortunate to have a great Breakfast show, waking up the West Midlands."
