This year's Pride event in Bude has been cancelled.

Organisers say with the resources they have right now, they can't deliver the kind of event that the town deserves.

But they say they're already making plans to bring it back in 2026, bigger, brighter and better than ever.

In an update, Cornwall Pride confirmed on Facebook: "We’re sad to share that Bude Pride will not be going ahead this year. This wasn’t an easy decision, but we want to be honest with our community: with limited resources and the challenges of delivering safe, inclusive, joyful events, we know we can’t bring you the Pride you deserve in 2025.

"We know that’s disappointing to hear, and we’re disappointed too. The truth is, with the resources we have right now, we just can’t deliver the kind of Pride that Bude deserves in 2025.

"But this isn’t goodbye. We’re already making plans, gathering energy and ideas, and we are determined that Bude Pride will be back in 2026 - bigger, brighter, and better than ever - we already have exciting plans in the mix!

"Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported us, asked how they can help, or just believed in what Pride in Bude means. That love and support is what keeps us going.

"Hold tight - we’ll be back next year, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all again."
