Netflix releases unseen Heartstopper scene between Elle and Tao
It's a cute moment ❤️
Heartstopper captured the... Well, hearts of many Netflix viewers when it was released in 2022. After a very popular first season, the show was quickly renewed for not one, but two seasons, with the second season due out this year.
So, while fans are eagerly awaiting the next instalment from Nick, Charlie and friends, Netflix has shared a previously unreleased scene, showing a cute moment between friends Elle and Tao.
The scene, shared on the Still Watching Netflix YouTube account, has a description reading: 'An exclusive look at a scene from Heartstopper season one that didn't quite make the cut in the first season of the Netflix series.'
In the scene, friends Tao and Elle can be seen lying next to each other on a camp bed, while at a sleepover with Charlie and Isaac. As the camera pans around the room, the pair are giggling over something on Tao's phone. When Tao puts his phone down, they go silent, and he realises Elle is looking at him.
"What?" Tao asks his friend, to which her reply is: "I miss you".
Tao goes on to reveal that he misses Elle as well, admitting that it's usually only him and Issac at lunch, saying: "I don't want to be alone."
Elle, played by Yasmin Finney who will soon be appearing in Doctor Who, then reassures him that he isn't alone, before the pair wrap their arms around each other, and an on-screen animation of lightning bolts appears, with the sound of electricity.
This scene was also shared on Instagram, which attracted a lot of comments from fans asking why it had been deleted. One wrote: 'WHAT WHY DID Y'ALL TAKE THIS OUT' (sic), another wrote: 'Oh, this is so lovely! 😭🍂'.
A third commented: 'I THOUGHT THIS WAS A SNEAK PEAK OF SEASON 2 AND THEN I SAW THE CAPTION 😭 heart broken this was cut omg'. (sic)
Just over a month ago, Heartstopper shared a photo of Alice Oseman, the creator, along with Kit Connor (Nick) and Joe Locke (Charlie), to announce the second season had finished filming, writing: 'And that's a wrap on Heartstopper Season 2… à bientôt! 🍂'.
Back in 2022, Kit and Joe from the show joined us to talk about playing the roles of Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring. Kit, who plays the role of bisexual teenager Nick, said that the character was an "extremely special character" to him. He went on to say: "I think there's not enough bisexual representation in mainstream media, or really any kind of media."
