Grenade handed in to Tewkesbury Borough Council offices
The office has been evacuated while bomb disposal make the item safe
Tewkesbury Borough Council offices are temporarily closed to the public this afternoon after a grenade was handed in by a member of the public who had discovered it while metal detecting.
Police are in attendance after we were called at around 2.10pm today (Tuesday 26 November) and a safety cordon is in place.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is in attendance to ensure the device is safe and will be carrying out a controlled explosion if necessary.
