13 of Katy Perry's biggest collaborations so far 💕
The singer has had plenty of big hits along the way
Katy Perry is known for her eccentric, vibrant personality, stunning vocals, and for making music that you just can't get out of your head. And let's not forget her music videos where, in the past, she's quite literally had fireworks shooting off her breasts. 🤣
But aside from that, Katy has also collaborated with some of the world's biggest music artists, releasing tune after tune, which have hit the top of the charts.
Some of her biggest collabs to date include working with Calvin Harris, Rita Ora, and Pharrell Williams. New music has now arrived from Katy in the shape of her sixth album '143', so let's take a look at some of her fantastic collaborations.
Take a look at some of Katy's biggest collabs:
‘Starstrukk’ with 30H!3
After Katy first burst onto the screen with her debut single 'I Kissed A Girl', she was quick to collaborate with one of the biggest bands in 2009, 3OH!3. The song reached number three in the UK charts and catapulted Katy to worldwide fame.
‘ET’ with Kanye West
Juxtaposing with her "poppy" music vibe, Katy collaborated with Kanye West for this hip-hop, R&B style song, a big risk for the singer/songwriter. But it seemed like it paid off as the song went to number one on the Billboard Top 100 charts and became the third best-selling digital song of 2011 in the United States with sales of 4.83 million.
‘Who You Love’ with John Mayer
Back in 2013 when Katy Perry and John Mayer were an item, they released this loved-up track, accompanied with an even more loved-up music video of the pair all over each other. The song achieved success in the US, with John Mayer's fans becoming even more jealous of Katy for taking him off the market...
‘California Gurls' with Snoop Dogg
We mean, who can forget this classic? There's too many positive things to say about this track. Not only does it bring back all the mems, it also features the legend Snoop Dogg. Iconic.
‘Swish Swish’ with Nicki Minaj
Released in 2017, this song gave birth to the "The Floss" dance, after performance guest Russell Horning performed the dance move on Katy's Saturday Night Live set. And let's not forget, it also has Nicki Minaj on the track. Guaranteed success? We think so.
‘365’ with Zedd
Katy Perry and Zedd wrote this song after Zedd supported the singer on her Witness tour. Released in 2019, the song became an instant hit and got stuck in the heads of almost everyone on the planet. True fact... well, maybe not.
‘Chained To The Rhythm’ with Skip Marley
The grandson of Bob Marley (!!) featured on this dancehall classic, performing the song with Katy at the 2017 Grammy and Brit Awards. Sia also co-wrote the song with Katy, as well as providing backing vocals. Wowee.
‘Feels’ with Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean
Pardon the pun, but this track really did give us all the feels. Four of the biggest artists of 2017 on one track, what's not to like? The song shot straight to number one in the UK, as well as six other countries in Europe.
‘Dark Horse’ with Juicy J
Collaborating with US rapper Juicy J for another banging tune, Katy released 'Dark Horse' in 2013. After releasing the song, Katy revealed she "wrote (the song) from the perspective of a witch warning a man not to fall in love with her." OK then...
'Last Friday Night' with Missy Elliott
T.G.I.F - what we say every Friday but Katy managed to make some money out of it! Interesting fact, the song was first released without Missy Elliott, but once she was added to the track, it shot straight to number one and allegedly boosted the songs sales by 25 per cent.
'Bon Appetit' with Migos
We all remember the video don't we? Where Katy is having food poured all over her body in a kitchen by lots of men dressed up as chefs. Random. But a good song.
‘If We Ever Meet Again’ with Timbaland
A staple in any 21st Century playlist. Enough said.
'When I'm Gone' with Alesso
Katy teamed up with Swedish DJ and producer Alesso to create their song 'When I'm Gone' which came out on 29th December 2021.
The pair premiered the music video at the halftime show at the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship game in the US on Monday 10th January, and released the official music video on YouTube.
