It wouldn't be wrong to say this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! camp mates have eaten well during their time on the show, with the majority of celebs earning lots of stars in their Bushtucker Trials.

However, with things like crocodile feet, emu neck and octopus on the menu, it's fair to say it's not exactly food the celebs are used to cooking. So it's no surprise they've been keen to add a little flavour whenever the opportunity arises.

In last night's episode (Sunday 30th November) EastEnders actor Shona McGarty was caught using butter to make her beans a little less bland, but the move backfired when bosses forced her to step down as camp leader, or lose stars.

However, it's the discussion that followed which has seen former campmate Alex Scott MBE take to social media to defend herself. After Shona admitted using the butter, she revealed she "found" it in the trunk, but didn't know where it came from.

Her fellow campmates were quick to blame recently-evicted sports broadcaster, Alex, with Ginge and Kelly both accusing her after everybody else kept schtum. It's not the first time Alex has been embroiled in a contraband scandal. On Sunday 23rd November's episode, she was caught on camera seasoning the feet with some salt she'd managed to smuggle into camp.

The former Lioness has now taken to her Instagram story to wade in on the new debate. She wrote: 'Just saying #buttergate...it wasn't me 😂.. But I do know who 🤷🏽‍♀️ #imaceleb'.

After Shona stepped down as camp leader, the celebs voted actress and comedian, Ruby Wax into the role. The 72-year-old seems to be taking her new position very seriously so far, calling herself a "stern" but "benevolent" and "empathetic queen". Meanwhile Jack Osbourne called it: "the craziest dictatorship I think the world will ever know".

What happened when salt was found in camp?

Speaking on an Instagram video uploaded to their account last month, hosts Ant and Dec said, after salt was spotted in camp: “I think it was contraband… watch this space.

"So we think it’s a sachet of salt that she’s nicked from the hotel and she’s had in her bag for a week. There will be punishments!”

The WHOLE group was punished for Alex's salt contraband, with bosses deciding to take away a star from Aitch's trial.

Speaking on I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked at the time, Alex's former team mate and former Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott said: “I am surprised by Alex doing it as I thought she would follow the rules, actually.”

Alex was caught on camera tearing open a little packet of salt, before she crouched down by the fire to sprinkle it in the pot.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Alex gushed: "You have fun with the crocodile toes and all of that. Just give me the mushrooms, the potatoes, the kale, the veg, the rice.

“I can get a little stir-fry thing going on."
