Boots recall dummies for newborn babies over safety fears

Boots have issued an urgent recall notice over fears that two types of their Boots Baby Airflow Soothers dummies are unsafe for newborn babies.

The high street giant issued the recall as a "precautionary measure" after discovering a "potential manufacturing fault" and confirmed that no other products are affected.

However, they added that parents who have bought the dummies should immediately return them to their nearest store.

The two types of dummies are an own-brand product for Boots - one is for babies aged 0 to 6 months, and the other is for babies older than six months.

Parents who have purchased the product are being advised to return them to their nearest shop and can expect a full refund or replacement product.

They issued a statement which read: "The health and safety of our customers and patients is always our highest priority. We’ve discovered a potential manufacturing fault in two Boots Baby Soothers which might cause a small tear in the silicone teat.

"As a precautionary measure, we are recalling these two Boots Baby Soothers so if you have bought these products, please return them to our stores immediately for a refund or replacement with a similar item.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to offer our reassurances that as soon as a fault was identified as part of our quality control process we immediately removed these lines from sale.

"No other products are affected. If you have any further questions or concerns, leave a message, call Boots Customer Care on 0800 915 0004 or speak to your local Boots store team."

Thankfully, the company haven't received any backlash on social media from angry parents saying that their child has been affected by this.
