A woman who was arrested in connection with a car crashing into a school in WImbledon has been bailed until next year.

Two eight-year-old children - Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau - were killed when the Land Rover crashed into the prep school in the leafy London suburb on the morning of July 6th.

The car was thought to have crashed the fence of the building and eventually hitting the building of The Study prep school on Camp Road.

The incident came as pupils were celebrating the end of term, with a tea picnic being held outside the school building so that kids could enjoy the warm weather.

Several others were also left injured after the car lost control and crashed into the school. These victims have all since been discharged from hospital.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 46-year-old woman from the area - who was arrested at the scene, has been re-bailed until the beginning of next year.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, but has been bailed until January.

Police investigations continue months after the crash, as officers try to piece together what happened and how the two girls were killed.

Following the incident, an inquest was opened into the children's tragic death, with proceedings being adjourned at the Inner West London Coroner's Court on July 12th.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that the families of Nuria and Selena "continue to request privacy at this difficult time".
