A passenger jet has been towed through the streets of Southampton after being saved from being scrapped.

The front section of the BAC 1-11 will be installed at Solent Sky Museum where the rear passenger cabin will become a cafe.

The aircraft was built at Hurn in Christchurch in 1980 and had been on display at Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.
