The Bear Grylls Adventure in Birmingham set to close

The Bear Grylls Adventure at the NEC in Birmingham is closing on 11 December.

The Bear Grylls Adventure in Birmingham is closing at the end of this year after six years.

It's operator, Merlin, announced the closure today (30 Oct), citing "commercial challenges".

It said: "The decision to close the site has not been taken lightly and was made after carefully reviewing the data and examining all other viable options."

It continued its temporary closure during the pandemic had a "lasting financial impact".

A statement continued on the Merlin website: "Our priority now is looking after our team members and animals throughout this transition.

"Over the coming weeks, we will continue to provide world-class animal care as we prepare to transfer our animals to suitable new homes, including to our nearby aquarium the National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham and other UK SEA LIFE sites. Our team of welfare specialists at SEA LIFE will oversee the transition process to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible."

After opening in 2018, the attraction will close now on Wednesday 11 December.

People who have a booking after that date are able to change of cancel their bookings.

The attraction isn't taking new bookings.
